Top Platinum level in the EcoVadis sustainability assessment

We have achieved the top Platinum level in the comprehensive EcoVadis sustainability assessment for the fourth time. Our overall score was 86/100, which means that we are among the top 1% of companies assessed in the 12 months prior to the medal issue date,

EcoVadis comprehensively assesses a company’s entire sustainability management system across, depending on the industry, up to 21 different areas related to environmental issues, labor and human rights, ethical business practices, and sustainable procurement. The assessment is based on policies and principles, practical measures, and results.

We achieved our highest score in sustainable procurement with 90/100. Our score for labor and human rights was 86/100, for the environment 85/100, and for ethics, which also includes ICT-related matters, 83/100.

A tool for developing sustainability work

The EcoVadis assessment serves as a strong and comprehensive third-party evaluation of our overall level of sustainability, both for ourselves and, for example, for our customers.

“We are very pleased with the Platinum level, which is becoming more difficult to achieve year by year as the score thresholds rise. At Berner, we work on developing sustainability on a broad front, and the result we have achieved is a wonderful recognition of the work done,” says Maria Nymander, Communications and Sustainability Director at Berner.

The assessment provides clear recommendations for action to advance sustainability work and serves as a strong driver for further development. Berner’s sustainability work is guided by our Shared Responsibilities sustainability programme and its targets.

We have also joined EcoVadis as a member in spring 2024 in order to develop the due diligence process of our own supply chain, and we commission similar assessments from our suppliers.
