Our personnel practices and principles, based on our values – work, integrity and humanity – form the foundation of our responsibility for employees.
At Berner, the safety and well-being of our employees is of paramount importance to us. Our goal within the Berner Group is zero accidents and occupational disease cases.
We assess our personnel’s well-being through the work community vitality survey, which is carried out across the Group approximately every two years. The survey examines the current state of well-being at work and measures the factors influencing employee experience, such as leadership, competence and everyday working practices. The results are reviewed in unit workshops and joint sessions, where the necessary development actions are defined.

The organisation’s most important resource is a skilled and well-functioning workforce. Competence development from the beginning of employment, from induction to continuous competence and learning development, forms the basis for developing our personnel’s competence and, through this, for growth from both an individual and an organisational perspective.
Good leadership at Berner means operating in accordance with our values and, by allocating human resources appropriately, ensuring the achievement of the objectives set for our business. We take the diversity of people and tasks into account in our management, and we want to be a work community that appreciates the strengths that diversity enables. Our leadership principles support supervisors in personnel and business management, both in their daily work and in achieving long-term objectives.
Equality, non-discrimination, a well-functioning work community and strong performance are key objectives in how we carry out people management at Berner. At Berner, we value each person regardless of gender, philosophy of life, age, sexual orientation, state of health or any similar factor.
We expect good supervisory, colleague and employee skills, in line with our values, from all our personnel. These serve as the starting point for our induction and work community coaching. We apply zero tolerance for inappropriate treatment and harassment.
